PARTICIPANTS WANTED!

I invite you to participate in a study about labour market opportunities and challenges in Canada, funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) (“Is everyone equal in the COVID recovery?”, grant #435-2021-0026), led by Dr. Andrew Stevens (University of Regina) and Dr. Catherine Connelly (McMaster University). The purpose of this study is to explore the concerns of prospective workers, employers, and hiring managers in the food service industry as the economy re-opens following the global COVID pandemic.

The study involves a recorded semi-structure interview with one of the project’s principal investigators or research assistants. Interviews may take about 30 – 45 minutes over the phone, Zoom or other on-line platform of your choosing. You are eligible to receive a copy of the project’s results. Recorded interviews shall be transcribed at a later date by a professional transcriptionist.

At no point during the survey will you be required to self-identify unless you so choose, and your confidentiality will be protected at all cost. Your name will never be attributed to any quotes or statements from the interview. You are free to back out of the study at any time.

Interview participants shall receive a $25 honorarium for their time.

This project has been approved on ethical grounds by the University of Regina Research Ethics Board (REB file # 2016-154).  Any questions regarding your rights as a participant may be addressed to the committee through the Research Ethics Office at (Out of town participants can call collect: 306-585-4775 or research.ethics@uregina.ca).
